Practice Policies & Service Values

Appointments

  • Sessions are by appointment only

  • Initial psychiatric evaluations with the provider are scheduled for 60 minutes and follow-up appointments are 30 min.

  • Please arrive on time for the scheduled appointment. If you are 15 or more minutes late, your appointment will have to be
rescheduled and a missed appointment fee will apply.

    Cancellations and No-Shows

Keeping agreed-upon appointments is crucial to successful treatment. The scheduling of an appointment constitutes an agreement to pay for the professional time reserved exclusively for you/your child.

  • Upon scheduling, patients receive notification of the appointment and a confirmation email that provides instructions on rescheduling if necessary.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.

  • Appointments cancelled with 24 hours’ notice or more will not
    incur a charge.

  • Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged to the payment method on file. This fee is the full cash-pay price for the scheduled appointment time.

  • Repeated no-show appointments may lead to the discontinuation of services.

These policies are in place out of respect for the provider and clients. Changes less than 24 hours in advance lead to appointment slots that are difficult to fill. Without ample notice, cancellations prevent others from being able to schedule into that time slot.

Communication - Psychiatric Provider

  • Routine communication is available via secure messaging in the Grow Therapy patient portal.

  • The patient portal is not staffed 24 hours a day and should not
    be used for emergencies.

  • Please allow 24-48 hours for portal response.

Documentation Fees

Insurance companies do not provide payment or reimbursement for chart review and the completion of documentation outside of
scheduled appointments. If you require documentation during the
course of your care, the following is a list of fees based on the
complexity and time necessary to complete. Fees are paid via
invoice separate from the session fee.

How Care is Provided

We strive daily to provide psychiatric care in a safe,
supportive, and collaborative environment where patients are
encouraged to feel seen, heard, and respected. All work is
grounded in trauma-informed care and guided by anti-racist,
feminist, and gender- and queer-affirming values. Our goal is
to create space for people to show up as their authentic
selves.

We are committed to providing thoughtful, expert care that
centers the whole person. This includes recognizing how
lived experience, identity, trauma, relationships,
community, and broader cultural and systemic forces
shape mental health and overall well-being. All services are
explicitly gender-affirming and inclusive of LGBTQIA+
identities.

In this practice, we believe psychiatric care works best when
it is collaborative. You are the expert in your own lived
experience. It is the role of a provider to offer clinical
expertise, education, and partnership—working together to
develop a care plan that aligns with your values, needs, and
goals. At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful
belief: you deserve care that honors your voice, autonomy,
and humanity.
